Classic car restoration services doing local research

Classic car restoration local research

I recently picked up an old Mercedes SL, but it was in poor repair. Classic car restoration is a big commitment, as I found out from a relatives previous experiences. I was lucky to learn from his knowledge of getting a classic restoration project done so I had a good idea of what I was getting myself into.

The time and skill shortage

Unfortunately I didn’t have the skills or time to do this myself. So I needed to find a classic car restorer in my local area (Somerset, UK) that could get the job done properly. My main concern was that I wanted a quality job done, in a decent amount of time, preferably by one restorer.

Searching for a local classic car restorer

I headed over to good old Google and did a search for classic car restorers in my local area. This brought up some good results, and I had a surf to find some companies to add to my shortlist. There are some great classic car restoration services out there luckily for me.

As a side note; the somerset restorations website will be worth looking at for this kind of research but it relatively new as of the time of writing.

Choosing who should take on my restoration project

In the end I chose a classic car restoration specialist in Weston-super-Mare. They were close to me at the time and I had heard good things about them around town. The price and time frame was perfect for me as well. The guys there did a fantastic job over the winter, and by the summer I had my fully restored car on the road and cruising around. Thanks guys!

I hope this article helped you. Get out there and find a classic car restorer for your project.

See you on the road.
